DISCLAIMER: THIS IS AN OPINION PIECE
What is laced around your foot, stitched on your bum, or tied around your neck? A lot of people have their unique, individual style. Some of these styles can range from your average varsity softball player to your high end, heels and tights type of chick; but, a lot of people fall in between these two extremes.

To start off, let’s start with the most popular trend in fashion today: Birkenstocks. These shoes are the most hideous thing I have ever seen. It reminds me of a middle-aged man walking on a beach in a speedo bikini when I see them. Now, Birkenstock is the shoe company, there are many different styles on these sandals. I am pretty sure these shoes were made for men first - but then women started taking over everything, per usual. I like style where not everyone has the same things you are wearing. I will agree that they are comfortable and the most versatile shoe I have ever seen; they are durable and light weight. But so are Crocs! Oh, and ladies…can we please stop thinking that wearing “Birks” with every outfit is an okay thing to do? You simply cannot pair these shoes with everything in your closet.

Military. It’s a trend. Camo prints, structured garments, army green/moss hues, utility jackets; it’s the new neutral for Fall. You can pair this color with virtually anything! Dress yourself army green up with a pair of heels or flats, edge it out with combat boots, or dress it down with sneakers. The military jacket is a pretty literal take on the military trend, but the army green jacket will prove to be one of the most versatile items in your closet; wear it over sweaters, tees, and even chiffon blouses paired with jeans, faux leather pants and colored denim. I’m a huge fan of throwing it over a black dress and adding Addidas sneakers for a casual street style look.

Knee high gladiators: sexy and comfortable. I am one of the people with the unpopular opinion saying, I absolutely adore these shoes - they literally make me drool! You can purchase many different brands, colors, and styles. The strappy look gives it a fun, but put together appearance. I was always hesitant about them at first because I thought they wouldn’t stay up on my leg (I know some of you girls have seen this in public before), luckily, the straps adjust so you never have to worry about them falling down. My favorite thing about these shoes is you never have to worry about height, these bad boys give the appearance for longer, lengthening legs. So fierce.

The baggy alternative to the ubiquitous skinny jean: Boyfriend Jeans. These jeans are the best thing that has come to women’s fashion; although this is not a new trend, these jeans are all the rage. “Boyfriend” style clothing is cut so it appears baggy. This is awesome because women can wear menswear-style clothing without having to wear men's clothes, which are obviously not made to fit women. I own three pairs, they’re my obsession.

Okay ladies, this is finally my last rant. The leaves are changing and the weather is getting cooler throughout the night. Please take into consideration of my one thing I have to say throughout the pumpkin spice season – LEGGINGS ARE NOT PANTS. Some of you people like to use leggings as britches — as pants, pants. No one wants to see your butt (well…that is not true because I believe women check out more cheeks than what men do) If you can’t wear a shirt that covers your tail, so I can’t tell that you have some Aztec-print thongs on, you don’t need to be wearing them. End of discussion.
