Many people get tired of their old boring shoes, but either can’t part with them or don’t want to spend a bunch of money buying completely new shoes. If that sounds like you, keep reading to find out creative DIY ways to give a shoe a new soul or should I say a new sole.

1. Drawing and coloring

The first one is pretty simple. All you need are some fabric markers, a light colored pair of shoes, preferably canvas, and some imagination. With the markers, you can draw any design with as much or as little detail as you want. Also, fabric markers will hold color even if the shoes get washed or dirty. Perfect for a quick fix to old, dingy shoes.

2. Adding photos

This design is probably one of the most creative things I have ever seen. To recreate this look you will need magazine phots, a spray bottle filled with water and Liquitex. To apply first you want to spray the shoe, next place your design, spray more water and smooth, and lastly paint a thick coat of Liquitex on to seal it. This design is great because it’s totally customizable and 100% unique. You can modify it by drawing things with it or by adding photos of your friends and family.

3.Pattern Transferring

Pattern transferring is something that can be done quickly and easily, while still be cute. What you need are light or white canvas shoe and iron-on printer paper. This technique is great because you can find any picture you want on the internet and put it on the iron-on paper. Once you have it printed out, all you have to do is cut the paper to fit your shoe and iron it on! This one is amazing because the variety of designs that you could put on there is vast. You could do anything from your initials to animals; the possibilities are endless.

4. Sparkly

With shoes this bright everyone will want to walk a mile in your shoes. For this look you can use any color of shoe you prefer. You will need mod podge or some other kind of fabric glue. Once you coat your shoe in the glue, start sprinkling on the glitter. You can either sift in on or dump the glitter into a bowl and dip your shoe into the bowl. For added fun you can glue jewels to the front part of the. Everyone loves glitter, despite it being super messy, it’s fun, bright, and just makes everyone’s day a little better. Plus now when you go outside you’ll reflect some light like a small disco ball.

All these looks add fun to old, boring shoes. Sometimes our shoes are too gross to donate but still can be worn, and these DIYs make the shoes not embarrassing to wear in public. The great thing about them is that you can customize all these designs to make them unique to you! Be creative and enjoy!
