Short on Space but not on Style

In the absence of a dedicated home office, the next best option is to carve out some space out of another room. The most popular target? The living room, since it's a centrally located "daytime" space that keeps work from bleeding into the bedroom.

To create a living room office area, here's your plan of attack: First find a corner, nook or bare wall, then outfit it with the comforts of a well-styled workspace. Here's some inspiration for you.

Here they tucked a round table into an alcove to

create a living room office with plenty of style and interest.

One other solution would be tucking your desk into an empty corner in your living room.

Here's a desk built into the cabinets, this is a simple DIY project anyone could do.

Another office tucked into a fireside alcove. They made their space work with a small bookcase being used as a desk.

If you can afford to float the sofa from the wall, it could create the perfect spot for an office by outfitting the area with a slim desk, like here.

Finally, in this apartment they used artwork

to visually separate the office from the rest of the living room.
