My Boyfriend Buys My Clothes

One of the most popular trends going around on youtube is the “My boyfriend/girlfriend buys my clothes.” This original idea came from a youtuber named Jenna Marbles. Jenna has been on youtube since 2009, and has over 17 million subscribers. She has many different videos that have turned into popular trends on youtube, such as “My boyfriend does my makeup” and “What girls do in the car.

The idea behind this trend if for the two in the relationship to go to a shopping mall or outlet, split up and shop for eachother. There is generally a set budget, but other then that there are no rules. You can buy whatever you’d like to see the other wear, which is what makes these videos so entertaining.

Some of these videos are taken seriously, they choose actual outfits their boyfriend/girlfriend would actually like, or what they think will look good on them. Other videos show them buying clothing that would be considered more of a joke, or something they’d never wear in public.

I personally find these videos to be very important. It gives a good perspective for both sexs to observe one another. I’ve realized through watching these videos that the men put in less thought than the women , not all but most of them. I also found that a lot of the men looked to the mannequins and sometimes even copied them.
